Apologies to any Granada fans out there.
Anyone else have any great/particularly sad print ads?

Granada, the cheap Mercedes knock-off you need to impress your neighbors.

My favorite part is the shot of the seats "erm...well they're the same color i guess...but other than that, one looks unbelievably cheap and crappy while the other looks comfortable and well bolstered...."

I remember when my dad test drove one (used). We ended up in a (slightly less used) '85 Grand Marquis, instead. It was a step down in size from the '76 Tbird.

I would love to recreate this ad and see how both have held up over 30+ years

Now why do I want to drive that thing so badly?

The problem is the only people that would fall for this probably have too poor eyesight to legally drive.
Hyundai's done this more than once.
Early Excel ads proclaimed it superior to a BMW 3-Series, because they both had "European styling" and ergonomic interiors, but the Hyundai had FWD and was cheap.
Also, the current Sonata has better quality paint than a Mercedes and more rear-seat legroom than a 5-Series, so therefore its better than both.

Notice how they don't show the front of the Merc.

Who looks at the front of cars? I only stare intently at the hubcaps, while blocking everything else off when i want to identify a car.
